Are children really afraid of clown entertainers?
In our experience, most children are not afraid of clown entertainers. We have noticed that if a child is afraid of Santa or the Easter Bunny, then they might be nervous around a clown entertainer. However, we do our best to make your child feel comfortable with the entertainer you select. That may mean we come without make-up completely, or with just a nose and some blush, but we always come in our professional costume which can also be adapted to your specifications. Just let us know what your child needs and we will do everything in our power to help him or her have the best time. We do request that your event start either in the morning or in the late afternoon, so that our entertainer can dress appropriately for other events before or after your event.
Should we have our event inside or outside?
This is the number one question we receive. Here are some considerations: Inside events make it harder to have a large group of children for birthday parties for example unless you have a big house. However, it will be cooler and more comfortable and the children tend to participate more. Another thing to remember is no music or television while your entertainer is working unless they are only doing face painting and balloons. If you have your event outside, you must consider the time of day, the heat and the distractions such as traffic or a bounce house or a swimming pool which takes away from the entertainer. Your entertainer needs enough space indoors to do the event and not be crowded. If doing the event outside, your entertainer will need a shady area to work in. Many entertainers will not do outdoor events due to the heat and wind which makes it hard to do whatever skills safely and effectively. Please note – your entertainer is not your baby or child sitter….adult supervision is always required during the event.
When should I plan my event - weekends or weekdays? What time is best?
Our entertainers are varied on their availability but if you give us enough time, we generally can accommodate your requests. Just remember if your event is near a holiday, our entertainers get booked very quickly and you might not have as much of a choice as during slower times of the year. Most of the time, the most accomplished entertainer gets booked first, therefore, we go down the ranking to get you the best entertainer at the time you call. We highly recommend you book as soon as possible in order to get the entertainer of your choice and for your specific needs as it really is a case of first come, first served. While we gladly give you a “ballpark” quote on entertainers, we will not start the entertainer selection process until you are ready to book your event. This a matter of saving us time while you shop other agencies, or make final decisions regarding your event. Another thing to consider is an alternative plan in case of bad weather. All of our events are rain or shine, which means we show up no matter what – except for cancellation. Please review our company policies
Who should we invite to the event?
The more people you invite to the party the more specific you will need to be in your entertainment needs. You might want to consider an “All Arounder” Clown Entertainer who can give you more versatility for the time you have for your event. Never invite more attendees than you think you can handle.
When should we serve food? 
Make plans to serve the food before or after the entertainer…not while the entertainer is doing your event. Food seems to have a way of falling in all the wrong places and at the wrong times.
How long can the entertainer work?
All entertainers are booked by the hour and most of them have a 2 hour minimum. For Corporate events all entertainers are a 2 hour minimum. During the holiday peak season, some entertainers are a 3 hour minimum. At corporate events, we must get permission from the designated contact person for the entertainer to stay longer and you must book in 30 minute increments.New ParagraphNew Paragraph
What age do children typically enjoy clown entertainers?
We find that ages 3 – 8 is the optimal age range for children to enjoy a clown entertainer. They also enjoy funny shows, face painting and balloons better in this age group. As the children get older, ask if they would like a “clown”. Young children from babies to 2 years of age generally do not get much out of a clown entertainer however; this is when you really need an experienced clown entertainer to provide loads of fun for all the other guests. For your information, Parties for 1 – 2 year olds is our #1 Birthday market – so we really know how to entertain the very young and young at heart crowd. We also have female and male clown entertainers if you have a preference; however, this is based upon availability and abilities.
Are balloon animals appropriate for all events?
Yes they are great for all events, but they are not always appropriate for all children or for those with latex allergies. We do not recommend balloons for infants or toddlers. This is due to the fact that children of this age group tend to put anything into their mouths and a balloon when deflated could be a choking hazard. Older children are the perfect age for all kinds of balloon animals, creations, and hats. Balloons work better for an indoor event as they can pop when it is too hot or when dropped into the grass, however we are often booked to do balloon events outdoors. Just a rule of thumb…it takes generally 1 minute per balloon creation…some take less and others take more time. Your entertainer can help you make the decision of types of balloon creations to fill the time you have booked.
How many face painters do I need for an event?
First of all you will always need a table and 2 chairs for each painter. You must provide them a shady place if outdoors since the sun can melt the face paints. Also, the face paint is water based so it is not a good idea to have face painting at a pool party, for example. It takes about 1 – 3 minutes per simple designs for the cheek, arm or hand. It takes about 5 – 8 minutes per full face design. Therefore you must decide on a simple or full face design and then how many attendees will be receiving a design. That will help you plan for the number of painters you will need. All of our painters use face paints and glitter that is approved for application on the skin.
